Operazione Cervantes, tutti assolti in appello

Con enorme piacere siamo lieti di comunicare che, proprio poche ore fa, è stata emessa la Sentenza di Appello nell’ambito del processo a carico di alcuni compagni anarchici inquisiti nell’Operazione Cervantes.          
TUTTI ASSOLTI dalle accuse, per le quali erano stati invece precedentemente condannati in primo grado.

Per chi avesse la memoria corta, ricordo che l’Operazione Cervantes, avviata il 27 luglio 2004, secondo disposizione emessa dai sostituti procuratori Vitello e De Falco della Procura di Roma, fu l´ennesima operazione repressiva nei confronti del movimento anarchico. Un centinaio le persone perquisite, di cui 34 indagate per "associazione sovversiva, terrorismo ed eversione dell'ordine democratico" (270/270bis). Le indagini erano finalizzate all'individuazione degli autori degli attentati all'istituto Cervantes di Roma (Giugno ’03), alla caserma dei carabinieri di Via s.Siricio a Roma, in cui perse due falangi il maresciallo Sindona (Novembre ’03) e al tribunale di Viterbo (Gennaio ’04).
Ebbe inizio così un’inchiesta dalle proporzioni gigantesche. Intercettazioni telefoniche e ambientali dal contenuto irrisorio parvero allora sufficienti a convalidarla, al fine di confermare l´ipotesi, già avanzata in precedenza dall'adesso procuratore generale Antonio Marini, dell'esistenza di un'organizzazione basata su 2 livelli, uno pubblico l'altro clandestino, e di condannare un numero illimitato di persone per il reato di associazione sovversiva. Così, dietro un´operazione di vasta scala, "giustificata" con l´indagine sull'invio dei plichi esplosivi, si palesava in realtà ancora una volta l´intenzione dello Stato di reprimere il movimento anarchico in tutte le sue espressioni, nonché di proseguire nell’ambito progetto di estirpazione di qualsiasi tendenza conflittuale nella società e di annientamento di ogni volontà di radicale cambiamento sociale.
Per questa inchiesta furono rinviati a giudizio e rinchiusi in galera 9 compagni. Il processo iniziò nel settembre del 2005 e si concluse nel febbraio 2006, con l’emissione della sentenza di primo grado: la Corte escluse per tutti l'associazione sovversiva, e decretò 6 assoluzioni totali, ma anche la condanna di 3 compagni per episodi specifici.
Oggi, 8 febbraio 2007, la Sentenza di Appello ha decretato che anche questi ultimi debbano essere assolti dalle pesanti accuse.
